Poor Girl! : Fans Blast Actress Genevieve Nnaji For Celebrating 4th Of July, America's Independence Day(Photos)

  Not fair o... The nollywood star who is presently in the US, shared photos of herself marking America's independence day on 4th of July. And as soon as she did, Some fans criticised her for celebrating it, asking if she has ever celebrated Nigeria's Independence....lol. 

Well, i think all this bad blood is still about the recent interview she was alleged to have called nollywood 'bland and Mediocre', although she has come out to deny it. Guys, there is nothing wrong with celebrating another country's independence, especially when you happen to be there at the time. Take note.

Angry Genevieve Nnaji Denies Reports That She Called Nollywood 'Bland And Mediocre'

 Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has come out to deny reports that quoted her saying Nollywood was bland and mediocre, which lead many of her fans to blast her including director Mac Collins Chidebe

 Punch, over the weekend, published their chat with the actress where she explained that she had been scarce in Nollywood movies because: 

Having practiced my art in international and professionally produced stories like ‘Ije’; ‘Mirror boy;’ and ‘Tango with me’, I don’t think I can return to the blandness and mediocrity that characterized Nollywood in the past.”

 Nollywood movie director, Mac Collins Chidebe, who obviously didn't like her statement replied her yesterday and Genny just took to her IG page to set the records straight with the below posts.

Popular Nollywood Director Hits Out At Genevieve For Industry Blande And Mediocre

 In a statement released yesterday, by movie director Mac Collins Chidebe(pictured right) he challenged actress Genevieve Nnaji to come and improve Nollywood instead of blasting the industry that brought her fame and fortune.

 Explaining the reason she's been hardly seen in Nollywood movies for a while now, Genevieve Nnaji, in an interview with Punch over the weekend, said;

“I guess I haven’t found the right script yet. Creativity and depth are the qualities that I look out for in a script. In the beginning, the movie industry emphasised quantity but things are changing and there is an improvement in trend. I am among the people who advocate for the improvement of the industry. So said, I am constantly watching out for the kind of stories I take part in. I am in support of movies that show a great deal of professionalism and creativity. Having practiced my art in international & professionally produced stories like ‘Ije’; ‘Mirror boy;’ and ‘Tango with me’, I don’t think I can return to the blandness and mediocrity that characterized Nollywood in the past.”

Well, one Nollywood movie director wasn't happy about Genevieve's description of their industry.

 Now, here's Mac Collins Chidebe reply to her:

"Genevieve has just insulted the industry that made her who she is today and what effort has she made to help improve Nollywood? Those days in Enugu when Genevieve was growing in Nollywood, our movies were not rubbish; she has grown now, made money, fame, popularity e.t.c, how much has she invested in this Industry that made her? All the while she was busy waiting for Titanic scripts, Nollywood was trying their best to keep the flag flying waiting for her to come back and take the industry to the next level. Artistes should stop biting the fingers that fed them. We are watching and waiting for them to bring down heaven. We made them stars; we are waiting for them to come back and take the industry to the next level. Instead of blasting Nollywood, come and improve Nollywood.” Chidebe said

Nollywood Is Bland And Mediocre” – Genevieve Nnaji blasts

I know you have been wondering why one of Africa's finest actress Genevieve Nnaji has not been featuring in Nollywood movies lately. Well, the beautiful actress has finally spilled the reason.
The delectable Genny, as she is fondly called by her fans, say that she cannot come back into an industry characterized by mediocre who churn out bland, dull, uninteresting, predictable and unexciting movies every other time.
Genevieve has taken her art to an international level and has acted in such movies like Mirror Boy, Ije, Tango With Me and the internationally acclaimed half of a Yellow Sun, and she does not see herself lowering her standards to accept scrappy scripts all in the name of acting in Nollywood.

In a recent interview, Genevieve said:
